Northland Challenge Kayak Race

1st Place Prize – $1,000, 2nd Place Prize – $750, and 3rdPlace Prize $500
The race starts at 9 AM and is a 6-mile sprint in calm waters on the Thunder Bay River. Kayakers launch into the river at Sytek Park and then paddle downstream toward the Alpena County Fairgrounds. Racers circle Island Park, paddle upstream, and pass under the bridge to the finish.
All proceeds benefit the Thunder Bay River Center, Alpena Animal Shelter, and local Veterans.
