Jondachi Fest

A celebration of the value and importance of the Jondachi River as a free-flowing Andean Amazon river corridor and world-class paddle sports destination. The event includes an expert-level, Class V whitewater kayak race on the Upper Jondachi, a group descent of the advanced-level, Class IV middle and lower Jondachi-HollÃn Rivers in rafts and kayaks, rafting for the whole family on the class II-III section from the mouth of the Misahuallà canyon to the Napo River, and flatwater dugout canoe and kayak races for novices on the class I-II Napo River, traditional music and dancing, as well as options for hiking, biking, waterfalls, bird watching, caving, petroglyphs, and more, to promote the preservation of the proposed Jondachi-HollÃn-MisahuallÃ-Napo ecological corridor. There are nominal registration fees for races and organized activities. Registration opens in January, 2-3 weeks prior to the event.
