19th Võhandu Marathon

Võhandu Marathon is a 100-kilometer paddling event in Estonia that takes place every year in April, in which thousands of paddlers from all over the world participate. The marathon runs from Võru, Tamula lake along the Võhandu river to Võõpsu boat harbor. The 19th Võhandu Marathon will start on April 20, 2024 at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning, Estonian time.

All human-powered watercraft (kayaks, canoes, rafts, SUP-boards, boats, waterbikes) can participate. The distance for all teams, regardless of boat class, is 100 km. The control time is 24 hours. The fastest time ever is 7 h 24 min 19s. On average, the race time is between 13-15 h.

A maximum of 1,500 boats (about 2,700 paddlers) are allowed to start the marathon, registration starts on January 1, 2024 at 12:00:01 am. Registration is open until March 31 or until 1,500 boats are filled. All finishers will receive a fancy finishing medal specially designed for the marathon. There are special prizes for boat class winners. In addition, a fast and with good maneuverablility kayak WK 525 Sport will be raffled among all participants. 3 warm meals are provided for each competitor on the course, and the world’s largest tent sauna awaits all finishers at the finish line.
